Research proves: "Learners prefer online learning solutions"

Phoenix, AZ – January 23, 2009

Auralog, the language learning technology pioneer and publisher of the award-winning TELL ME MORE®

language learning software program today unveiled survey results that show language learning needs and e-Learning impressions of European language learning buyers.

This report, which considers individuals who are currently taking language learning or are currently in the

market for language learning is a compilation of surveys and interviews from 424 business professionals in Europe. Panel on the Web (POTW), one of Europe’s largest market research and consulting firms, was

contracted to conduct the research.

The overall goal of the research was to better understand the perceptions and expectations of language

learners and how language learning can enhance their careers both day-to-day as well as long term. In keeping with this, POTW found that almost 50% of respondents were conducting business in or having to use another language daily and being more proficient in that language enabled them to be more productive. Additionally, 60% of respondents noted that their interest in language learning was directly connected to their career interests.

In Europe traditional Instructor-led learning and Language Travel programs are still the preferred method of learning language skills. Interestingly, 89% of respondents felt that language learning delivered via e-learning was either Effective or Very Effective. Similarly, respondents learning another language online were significantly more satisfied with the overall program experience compared those learning via traditional instructor-led learning, and by the end of the study the number of participants interested in e-learning grew over 16% with 36% confirming they would unequivocally select an e-learning program over a classroom-based course for their language learning needs.

Respondents’ primary program goals were to have significant improvement of their language skills, improve their overall confidence levels and improve their speaking skills. Beyond this respondents were interested in tying in a business benefit to their language learning and being able to demonstrate quantifiable success in the workplace.

The findings of the POTW study reinforces key features of the TELL ME MORE® language learning solutions including:
