Goethe Institute expands relationship with Auralog
Phoenix, Arizona - March 2, 2009
Auralog, the pioneer of integrating advanced speech recognition technology with language learning instruction, and the publisher of the TELL ME MORE® language learning software program, today announced an expansion of their agreement with the Goethe Institute.
Since 2006 the Goethe Institute has been partnered with TELL ME MORE® to provide German language learning classes online. The selection of TELL ME MORE® was natural as the program best fit into the Goethe Institute’s requirements including; cultural learning, listening and speaking exercises, reading and writing practice, as well as interactive vocabulary and grammar lessons. TELL ME MORE® is the only language learning software provider that both covers all areas of language learning as well as provides content for complete beginners through advanced business level learners.
For over fifty (50) years the Goethe Institute has played a central role in the cultural and educational policies of Germany. Operated worldwide, they promote the study of German abroad and encourage international cultural exchange as well as foster knowledge about Germany by providing information on its culture, society and politics. The Goethe Institute boasts 170,000 participants in their German courses each year in 80 countries.
Through the partnership with TELL ME MORE® the Goethe Institute is able to deliver the quality learning experience patrons have come to demand from the Goethe Institute. Learners receive their instruction online and depending on the course of program will have proactive or reactive personal tutoring services. The tutors are an essential element in that they provide the human element—often lacking in online learning programs. Tutors track and monitor the learner’s progress, provide ongoing motivation, progress reports, assess and review exercises and homework assigned by the Goethe Institute as well as assist learners with their language learning questions.
The program has been active for three years and in that span of time the results have been overwhelmingly positive. Enrollments in the online courses have exceeded initial expectations and even more importantly students are taking more courses. Each student completing their course of study is presented with the covetted Goethe Certificate.
“It has been a pleasure working with the Goethe Institute, Germany’s most respected cultural institution,” comments Ralf Jedermann, Managing Director of Auralog, Germany. “Being involved in such and exciting program and watching it evolve into it’s current global implementation is truly exciting. The Goethe Institute renewing and expanding our agreement demonstrates the trust and strenth of our seamless partnership.”
