Exercise 1
Add new words to your vocabulary and learn how to pronounce them.
Click on
and say out loud the correct answer from the list provided. If you have pronounced the correct answer correctly, it will appear in green.
Whenever you wish, you can start again by clicking on

Exercise 2
Improve your intonation, accent and fluency.
Click on
eand repeat the sentence shown and pronounced by the model. Your vocal chart, your score and the words that need your pronunciation attention will appear to the right of the screen, in your history. Whenever you want, you can start again by clicking on
. Each attempt will be added to your history. To compare your attempts with each other and with the example, click in turn on
in front of the model and then in your history.
Exercise 3
Enrich your knowledge of the history, culture and specificities of the American and British societies.
Match the correct caption with a series of images. Click on a caption in the list and hold down your mouse button. Move the tag to the corresponding image and then leave go of your mouse button (drag and drop). When all of the captions are in place, click on “Submit.”
If you have not chosen the correct caption, the
button will appear. However, before you give up, it is possible to modify your answers and re-submit your response.
Exercise 4
Perfect the pronunciation of a particular sound.
First, listen how to pronounce the sound correctly with the help of the recording. You can then listen to it used within different words by clicking on the
located beside it.
When you feel ready, click on “advance to stage 2 – Pronounce”. Click on
and repeat the word shown and pronounced by the model. Your voice chart and score are displayed to the right of the screen in your history. Whenever you wish, you can start again by clicking on
. Each attempt will be added to your history.
To compare your attempts with each other and with the model, click in turn on
in front of the model and in your history. When you achieve the required/target score for a word, the software will automatically move on to the next word. You can, however, still go back to previous words by clicking on the list in the bottom left of your screen. Similarly, if you have trouble with a particular word, you will be able to move on to the next one by clicking on the list in the bottom left of your screen.
If you are having any trouble, you can also go back to the pronunciation explanations by clicking on the Stage 1 tab.
Exercise 5
Work on or practice one grammar concept in particular.
Look at the example given. If necessary, read the grammar rule that applies by clicking on the section “Concept worked on.” Next, by applying this rule, change the words or sentences shown. Write your answer in the box and validate your response by clicking on
or by pressing “Return” on your keyboard.
If you have not input the correct answer, the
button will appear. However, before you give up, it is possible to modify your answers and re-submit your response.
Exercise 6
Learn how to hold a conversation: You call a hotel to book a room. The receptionist answers and asks you a series of questions…
Click on the video to start the speaking activity. After the beep, it is your turn to pronounce one of the possible answers displayed. When you have pronounced your response correctly, you will be asked another question, and then another, until the exercise is finished. If you do not pronounce the response correctly, keep trying in order for the speaking activity to continue. You can click on ■ beside
to take the time to read the possible responses. You can take a break from the speaking activity at any time by clicking on ■ under the video, then start from where you left off by clicking on ►.
If you are finding it too difficult to pronounce the word correctly, you can click on

Exercise 2
Master syntax while improving your pronunciation.
Put the various parts of a sentence into the correct order by saying it out loud. Click on
then say the words out loud in the correct order. When you have pronounced your response correctly, the sentence will be displayed in green. If you have not given the correct response, the parts of the sentence that need to be corrected will appear in red and the
button will appear. You can start again as many times as you like by clicking on
and by re-pronouncing the words in a different order.
Exercise 3
Improve your oral comprehension by watching a report broadcast on the Euronews® television channel, and then carrying out a series of exercises
Click on the image to start playing the video of the report. You can stop the video by clicking on

under the video window, and then re-start it by clicking on ►.
By clicking on
, you can display the transcript. In this text, you will be able to place your cursor over certain words and right click on them to obtain a translation. At the end of the report, click on
to access the corresponding exercises. Follow the instructions for carrying out each exercise, and then submit your responses by clicking on
. You will then be given the correct answer and your score. Move on to the next exercise by clicking on

During the exercises, you can watch the report again at any time by clicking on

Exercise 4
Move on to written exercises and work on grammatical concepts.
Change the text displayed by correctly applying the past conditional tense. To do this, write your answer in the box and then click on

If your response is correct, the text will appear in green. If you have made any mistakes, they will appear in red. You can, however, also correct and re-submit your responses, or ask to see the correct solution by clicking on
